Rick Bartelt is the owner. Rick began in the construction industry at 12 years old, assisting his father, Ronald Bartelt, on project sites during weekends, holidays, and summer vacations. He continued to learn about carpentry, and in 1984, Rick and his wife Chris started Bartelt. The Remodeling Resource.
Chris Bartelt is the office manager. Before taking on this role, Chris was a legal secretary at a large law firm in Milwaukee. This experience along with her schooling at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) allows Chris to effectively communicate with Bartelt’s customers, employees, subcontractors, and vendors on a daily basis.
Matt Retzak is the project designer and coordinator. With over 18 years of architectural and industry experience, he has worked for Bartelt for 14 years, overseeing the design process and helping clients think outside of the design box. He has also served as a resource for numerous publications, including Better Homes & Gardens. Matt has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.
Mary Sweet is an interior designer and project coordinator. With over 12 years of architectural and interior design experience, she oversees the entire design and selection process, helping clients make the best choices for their remodeled spaces. Mary has a bachelor of arts in Interior Design from Mount Mary College.
Heather Scott is an interior designer and project coordinator. She has over 22 years of experience in the remodeling and new construction industries and oversees the entire design and selection process, working closely with clients to create cohesive designs. Heather has a degree in Interior Design from Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) and has been a licensed interior designer through the State of Wisconsin since 1996.
Jessica Boll is the design and sales coordinator. A member of the Bartelt team since 2007, Jessica assists the designers with the measurements of existing conditions, solicits and compiles bids, and creates 3D renderings. She received her bachelor of sciences in Interior Design from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
Amanda Coakley is the marketing director. She is responsible for media and customer relations, social media, writing, advertising, and other public relations and marketing functions. Amanda received her bachelor of arts in Professional Strategic Communications – Public Relations from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.
Matt Swanger is the vice president of operations. With over 27 years of carpentry experience, Matt is a Certified Remodeling Project Manager (CRPM) through NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry). Throughout his career, he has supervised projects and worked closely with subcontractors and homeowners.
Jeff Boesel is a project manager. Joining the Bartelt team over 10 years ago, he oversees our field staff and works closely with customers to ensure that each project runs smoothly and safely.
Don Mitchen is a project manager. With 27 years of experience in the remodeling industry and a background in finish carpentry, he works closely with project designers, carpenters, and customers to ensure each project runs smoothly and safely.
Terri Inhof is a production administrator. With 12 years of new construction experience and 10 years in the remodeling industry, she works closely with the project managers, designers, carpenters, subcontractors, and customers to ensure each project runs smoothly. Terri also oversees scheduling, material ordering, invoicing, and change orders.
Dawn Manthey is a production administrator. With over 20 years of experience in the remodeling industry, Dawn has worn many hats as an office manager and has worked closely with project managers. She also attended Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC), focusing on accounting.
Ryan Derus is a lead rough carpenter. Joining Bartelt over 14 years ago, Ryan oversees a crew of carpenters and is lead-safe certified and a certified materials handler. He also works closely with project designers and the production team.
Duane Wolf is the lead finish carpenter. He graduated from MATC and has over 20 years of finish carpentry experience. Joining Bartelt over 8 years ago, Duane collaborates with other field staff, project designers, and production staff to complete the details.
Kane Peterson is a second level rough carpenter. He has been with Bartelt for over six years, working closely with project designers and production staff to complete rough and finish carpentry.
Bob Yogerst is a carpenter. Bob has over 23 years of carpentry experience and has supervised numerous projects. At Bartelt, he works closely with designers and the production team to complete rough and finish carpentry.
Shawn Hubatch is a carpenter. With over 30 years of project management and carpentry experience, he works closely with project designers and production staff to complete rough and finish carpentry.
Alan Schroeckenthaler is a carpenter. With over 13 years of carpentry experience, Alan works closely with project designers and production staff to complete rough and finish carpentry.
Casey Van Scoy
Casey Van Scoy is a carpenter. He attended Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC), focusing on building trades and carpentry, and has over 9 years of experience in the construction industry.
Dan Paulus is a finish carpenter. With over 20 years of carpentry experience, Dan works closely with project designers and production staff to complete finish carpentry.
Mason Swanger is a carpenter and has worked for Bartelt for over a year. He has many years of carpentry experience working with his father.
Darrin Wearing is a rough carpenter. He previously served in the United States Marine Corps and in local law enforcement.
Mark "Shack" Szymczak
Shack is the electrical manager. With over 30 years of experience, he works closely with designers, the production team, and clients to fulfill all electrical needs for southeastern Wisconsin homeowners. Shack has been a licensed master electrician since 1998 and is a Certified Kohler Generator Service Technician.
Tony Brunk is a third year electrical apprentice and is a registered electrician through the State of Wisconsin. Tony works closely with Shack and the design and production teams to fulfill electrical needs for southeastern Wisconsin homeowners.
