Bartelt Named 2017 National Contractor of the Year

NARI National CotY Winner
Bartelt was named the 2017 National Contractor of the Year (CotY) by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) for the Entire House $500,001 – $750,000 category.

Wauwatosa Butler's Pantry“We are honored to be named the 2017 National Contractor of the Year in this category,” said Rick Bartelt, owner. “We would not have achieved such a high honor without the expertise and dedication of the entire team, including our designers, carpenters, production staff, trade partners and customers.”

Contractors from seven regions nationwide vie for the awards on an annual basis. An impartial panel of judges, who are experts within the industry and associated fields, selected winners based on problem solving, functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, innovation, degree of difficulty and entry presentation.

Earlier this year, NARI named 172 Regional CotY winners with 27 team members who advanced as finalists to the national level. NARI announced a National winner in each of the 37 categories at its Evening of Excellence reception, held in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Wauwatosa Kitchen RemodelAfter previous remodels, the winning project was dated, and the spaces lacked unity. The homeowners wanted to enhance the home’s original charm, creating a cohesive design throughout the various rooms, while highlighting their eclectic style and accommodating their modern lifestyle. The remodel features a new mudroom, kitchen expansion, family room, butler’s pantry, first floor bathroom, dining room, and master bathroom. Throughout the project, it was important to increase the natural light in the home and make the spaces more conducive to entertaining. Now, the home is a balanced mix of the homeowners’ eclectic taste and more traditional details.  Bartelt worked with interior designer Jeff Wasserman to complete the project.

Bartelt Wins Silver Award in Master Design Awards

Elm Grove Kitchen RemodelWe recently won a Silver award in the Addition more than $250,000 category in the Qualified Remodeler Master Design Awards.

“We are honored and excited to be recognized in the Master Design Awards,” said Rick Bartelt, owner.  “We could not have done it without the expertise and support of our team, trade partners, and clients.”

Elm Grove Barn DoorsThe winning Bartelt project was originally a 1850s barn and was converted to a home in 1938. With so much charm and history, the homeowners wanted to retain and enhance the home’s original character while accommodating their modern lifestyle. The two-story addition houses a new mudroom, kitchen expansion, hearth room, master suite, and attached garage with a bonus room. Throughout the addition, it was important to create a rustic, yet refined aesthetic. This was achieved with beams, board and batten siding, shakes, layers of lighting, exposed wood, and other selections that acknowledge the home’s barn past.

Bartelt Wins Two MBA Achievement Awards

On Friday, September 26, 2014, we took home two Metropolitan Builders Association (MBA) Achievement Awards – Best Remodeling Project $150,000+ and People’s Choice for the 2014 MBA Spring Tour.

The winning Bartelt projects each had unique components.  The whole house remodel returned an 1880s farmhouse back to its original charm. Bartelt updated the entire first floor and built a sunroom addition that complements the home’s existing details.  The project is a mix of rustic and refined elements, featuring reclaimed barn beams, coffered ceilings, white custom cabinetry, fieldstone, and character-grade hickory flooring with hand-eased edges.

The lower level remodel featured on the 2014 Spring Tour offers the homeowners a comfortable area to watch movies, entertain, and play.  It’s a space that both the adults and kids can enjoy, featuring marble subway tile, engineered Hickory flooring, ample storage, barn-style doors, arched openings, and smoky gray custom cabinetry.

We are honored to receive two Achievement Awards.  These awards are the result of the creativity, dedication, and expertise of the entire team, including our designers, carpenters, production staff, trade partners, and customers.
