Bartelt Barnwood

Wisconsin Dairy Barn

It’s been an exciting week at Bartelt! Part of our crew has been in St. Cloud, Wisconsin, disassembling an 1800s dairy barn. With the popularity of reclaimed materials, this barn has a lot to offer – beams, doors, hardware, and history! Here are some photos!

Bartelt Farmhouse Remodel in 30West Magazine

30West magazine’s April 2015 issue features a recent Bartelt farmhouse Remodel in Hartford.

The homeowners wanted to update their 1880s farmhouse to accommodate their modern lifestyle while retaining and enhancing the home’s original character.  The remodel is a mix of rustic and refined elements, featuring reclaimed barn beams, coffered ceilings, white custom cabinetry, fieldstone, and character-grade hickory flooring with hand-eased edges.

See it on pages 34-39 here.

Bartelt Wauwatosa Remodel in M Magazine

M Magazine’s April 2015 issue features a home tour of a recent Bartelt remodel in Wauwatosa.

After previous remodels in the 1950s, this 1940s home was dated, and the spaces lacked unity.  The homeowners wanted to restore and enhance the home’s original charm, creating a cohesive design throughout the various rooms and exterior while accommodating their modern lifestyle and next life stage: empty nesters.

See the “Dwellings” section, pages 53 – 56, here.

The lower level remodel featured on the 2014 Spring Tour offers the homeowners a comfortable area to watch movies, entertain, and play.  It’s a space that both the adults and kids can enjoy, featuring marble subway tile, engineered Hickory flooring, ample storage, barn-style doors, arched openings, and smoky gray custom cabinetry.
